The duration of the stage is about 3 hours.
In the Enoteca Patrito tasting room in Via Vittorio Emanuele n.78 in Cherasco, guests are welcomed and the course begins.
Subjects considered: Langhe and Roero morphological characteristics of the soils, ampelographic details of the main grape-varieties, wine DOC (denomination of controlled origin) and DOCG (denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin). Wine tasting methodology: tasting theory and technique (visual examination, olfactory examination and tasting examination), ideal serving temperatures and the wine glasses which are best suited to enhancing the organoleptic characteristics of wines, how to decant wine when necessary, the theory and technique of matching wine and food with the most important rules to observe when serving, the correct terminology to use when describing wine.
During the lesson five different excellent wines representing the areas discussed will be presented for tasting.
The course will be directed by the proprietor of the Enoteca, Mr Silvano Patrito, professional Sommelier and official wine-taster of the Italian Sommeliers Association.
